I listened to this guys for the first time literally yesterday (thanks to a friend who brought them up to me a few times) and I fell in love at first strum. Members Ricky Young, Joel King, Taylor Burns, Preston Wimberley and Ben Dumas infuse blues, folk, and country together with their strong influence of rock to create a "web of warm, cosmic melodies with vintage roots and modern tones" Taken straight from their website and I couldn't agree more. Growing up on music like Led Zeppelin and Neil Young, Southern musical traditions ran through each members family growing up. 2013 was the debut year for The Wild Feathers when the band called for help from Jay Joyce (producer of Cage The Elephant, The Wallflowers, and Emmylou Harris) to help produce their debut album. This was the first song I listened to off of YouTube and I almost couldn't believe that these guys aren't already huge. These guys have seriously good voices and some hard core talent. Check them out, share with friends, and keep Rock & Roll alive.
The Goodwich is on the hot seat this week and proved they can handle the heat. Located off of 4th and Las Vegas Blvd (basically in that in-between area before Downtown). Right across the street from Art Of Flavors (previously on Foodie Friday) and next to Dino's Lounge, this little shack is literally right on the corner and reaps the benefits of such a traffic heavy area. The stacked- right sandwich shop is brand new to the area but not to the Las Vegas area itself. Although The Goodwich has only been open since February of this year, we were told the owners (friends from a previously job) are well known around the hospitality industry here in Vegas.
