SOTD- Escape (The pina colada song) Jack Johnson version.
Originally wrote and sung by Rupert Holmes, the very talented Jack Johnson re-did the song for the soundtrack of the movie Mitty. It really just makes you want to sit on a beach, grab a corona, and watch the waves roll on by. 39 year old Jack Johnson started his love for music at the age of 8 when he started to write his own music and learn to play guitar. Born in Hawaii, his first love was surfing (born into the family of the great Jeff Johnson, its hard not to be a surfer). His musical breakthrough came in 2001 with the release of his debut album Brushfire Fairytails. He has released 5 more albums since then, EPs and even surfing soundtracks and movies. The American singer songwriter, musician, actor, record producer, professional surfer ALSO puts on the annual event the Kokua Festival which supports environmental education. And handsome? Whatta guy.
Did you know that over 500 BILLION CUPS of coffee are drank (drunk?) over the year. That's insane but makes sense because I drank (drunk?) about half of that number.
Legend has it that farmers noticed the effects of caffeine after seeing their goats dance and jump around after eating "coffee berries".
Energy balls were a thing back in the day too. Coffee barriers mixed with fat made for a great treat for natives of Africa.
Between the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn is the "Bean Belt". All the coffee in the world grows here (Hawaii is the only U.S. state that grows coffee).
Did you know coffee grows on trees? The trees can grow to be 30 feet tall but are cultivated (or picked) at about 10 feet tall.
The coffee bean is actually part of a RED berry, it is the inner seed.
Being the second largest, most traded commodity on earth, a great profit comes from these berries.
A man by the name of George Washington (commonly mistaken for the president) invented instant coffee in 1906.
Americano (espresso with water) is a war term from WW11. The GIs wanted something to keep them going but not so strong.
They know make edible coffee cups...... (speechless) (** link below) (***** perfect Christmas gift for a certain blogger..)
