I hope you all are hungry because this weeks FOODIE FRIDAY is a DOUBLE WAMMY! That's right, you bought one and get the second one free. (you're welcome). We will be exploring I-Naba and Art of Flavors today, let's dig in!
And what's a meal with out desert? We headed over to a downtown spot called Art Of Flavors. This little gelato shop is a little hard to find but once you do, its worth every cent of gas that was lost. Located off of South Las Vegas Blvd between East Wyoming Ave. and East Oakey Blvd, this little cup of heaven is serving up sweet and savory flavors for the masses. A woman by the name of Desyree owns and runs the shop. From the moment we walked in, she was very helpful and friendly. She walked us through the process she uses to make these insane flavors. Letting us try flavors such as Cookie Butter (so good), Fluff and Peanut Butter crunch (so good), Blue Smirf (so good), and Candy Corn (did I mention these were so good?), we got to taste just a little bit of the craziness that is Art Of Flavors. Not only does she deliver in the sweet portion of her gelatos but she caters to the crazy and out of the box in all of us as well. Fridays and Saturdays are her "savory days" that include flavors such as Hummus, Smoked Salmon, and Mac and Cheese (?!?). I didn't get a chance to taste the flavors this time but you can bet ill be back to get my paws on some savory concoctions (maybe even a PRESSED GELATO PENNINE!). The menu was simple and not too expensive. I paid a little under $5 for two flavors. I asked her why she thought of an out of the box gelato shop and her answer was simply "because I love food" and that she wanted to share it with everyone (can't argue with that logic). You can't go wrong at Art Of Flavors. Thank you Desyree for taking the time to talk with us and sharing you're unique ideas with everyone here in Las Vegas!
