(about to get slightly personal) one year ago today I was in a different place, mentally and emotionally. I felt down on my luck and didn't really see a light at the end of the tunnel. I was, you could say, just going through the motions. I had never written anything besides papers for school before and never thought about reviewing anything besides the coffee I had ordered to make sure it came out right. The thought of writing for fun had never once crossed my mind. Until October 8th, 2014. Something was telling me I needed to give the whole blog thing a go. With the support of my awesome family and friends I did and one year later here we are. A year of reviews, amazing music, out of this world festivals and more food then I would have ever imagined. Every step of the way was pure bliss and I have never enjoyed doing anything more then this. Thank you to you, yes you right there. No not the person behind you but you! Thank you for making this possible for me everyday and giving me a reason to write (even in the times that I was MIA). Thank you for visiting this site and reading and enjoying. Thank you thank you THANKYOU!
Music and food; I still think there is no better combination. From concerts to festivals to restaurants and reviews, cheesy quotes and tons of pictures; itslikemusictomymouth has come so far.
We've had greek food and sushi burritos,
We've had damn good BBQ and down-home southern food,
We've tried food from cans, deep-fried fruits, and burgers the size of my head,
We've had Venezuelan food, Chinese food, Thai food and Filipino food
and we drank enough coffee to cause a shortage.
We've had good reviews and bad reviews (music and food alike), we've tried food from Kansas City to Portland
and we aren't done yet.
We've reviewed concerts and festivals and artists (oh my). From rock to indie to r&b to techno. Local artists to big names.
Our musical journey has been one for the books and will continue to get better and better.
I can't wait to see what year 2 of itslikemusictomymouth brings to the table and I hope you're all just as excited as me. Thank you!
Oh! Almost forgot. Krissy, thank YOU for helping me make this site what it is. Can't wait to share more of our adventures with the world this year. You da best.
